Mañanita for Tita Violeta.☺♥

hello everyone! :)

1st things first, anyone knows what the title means?

Mañanita, according to Wiki, is actually a traditional song that is supposed to be sung before eating the birthday cake (mexican version of the "happy birthday song") and a very special way of serenading women on their birthdays.

here in the Philippines, this is also a very popular tradition that is done on the eve of someone's special day, in most cases of my experience. :)

and on the eve of the 1st day of May, we serenaded one special tita of ours in welcoming her 6oth birthday.
VIOLETA BALITON JEBULAN
or
tita Violy is one of our ates mom, whom we love dearly.♥  she is spunky and groovy, encouraging the group to serve the church, and setting as an example as a loyal follower of our Lord. not to mention she is also a very techie woman, who loves surfing the net and updating her FB. :) we really appreciate her comments and posts every time we check our sites. she our constant reminder that if you put enough effort and interest in what you do, you could accomplish anything.

Ate JM, her only daughter, thought of showing how significant tita is to her and us and so she connived with A and the rest of the gang into performing 2 of the famous Abba songs, Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen, plus the *ten-te-nen-ne-nen HAPPY BIRTHDAY song to surprise the unsuspecting tita Violy. :))

Kai presenting tita V with the "violet" purity cake. :)) love the story of this so called purity cake!!! ate JM and i had a History 101 lesson because of this!

Tita V, teary eyed, saying, "how sweet of you guys!!!!" all for you tita.☺ while this was taken, tita was really bothered coz she had no LIPSTICK on! hahaha! that remark brought the house down! :)) no need for make up tita, you're beautiful!

happy birthday!☺♥
the surprise ain't over yet, for ate JM had another one. :)

she gave her mom a brand new camera! :) tita loved the color and the animal-printed pouch that comes along with it. :)

this was all for her happiness. :) thank you ate JM and kuya Bry for inviting us to be a part of tita's mañanita and to witness the love that you have for her.♥ i hope to share more of these moments with you guys!

with that i would like to leave a quote from Thomas Jefferson.

"I believe that every human mind feels pleasure in doing good to another."

simple delights!♥

“There are three possible parts to a date, of which at least two must be offered: entertainment, food, and affection. It is customary to begin a series of dates with a great deal of entertainment, a moderate amount of food, and the merest suggestion of affection. As the amount of affection increases, the entertainment can be reduced proportionately. When the affection IS the entertainment, we no longer call it dating. Under no circumstances can the food be omitted.”

hello guys!

how was your day? i had a blast this week all because i was surrounded by scrumptious food! yey! foodie heaven indeed. as i said bye bye to my "supposed to be summer body," i embraced the fact that food will never be out of my system. :) well at least i'm happy!

let's start shall we.

1. GILIGAN'S
-after our choir meeting, A and i with a couple of friends, decided to grab a bite at BGC. however, seeing that the entire Mercato was occupied we headed to Makati Ave. and parked at A. Venue Hall.
it was a nice change of scenery. :) to think that we spend most of our time in Glorietta and Greenbelt.
it was a nice choice because even though its a Saturday night they have plenty of spaces for guys like us who are not looking for beers.
-total money spent here was 130php.

A and me.♥ while waiting for the meal.

2. BIGOLI
-this Sunday i met my college barkada in TriNoma.
-we met at this Italian resto, i love the decor and the friendly service.
-the servers are roaming around to offer free, unlimited bread sticks! yum!
-total bill of my meal was 235php (this comes with unlimited iced tea)

me, ate Zee and Caren.♥

3. SUMOSAM
-for the last stop, A and i ate at this restaurant, also in TriNoma. :)
-A has a very huge appetite, i mean really, so going into this place was totally worth it. its kinda pricey. :P
-i loved the Salmon Sashimi and A's Chicken Teriyaki Donburi.
-i also loved the ceramic plates and saucers that they provide so i also took some photos of those too!
can't get enough inspiration!

salmon sashimi is LOVE! :) with lots of wasabi in the dipping soy sauce!

chicken donburi that is surely filling! :)
the perfect remedy for A's craving for rice meals!

there's always room for dessert! this is SumoSam's version of a banana split!

the ceramic plate and saucers i really liked! :))

what a yummy, delish and satisfying week! i can't wait for this week and the following weeks to come!
i hope you guys enjoyed your 1st week of April!
catch you guys again next time!

its been a busy 1st week of February for me as there was a wedding, voice lessons, and i finally got to watch Les Miserables! yey for me! that was the first movie i've watch this year! thank the Lord that i didn't miss that chance to watch the movie in the big screen, i'll definitely regret it if i did. so many words of compliment that i had in my mind to praise the movie, it will take the whole page, but for this entry i'll simply say, BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! :)

“It requires a certain kind of mind to see beauty in a hamburger bun.” -Ray Kroc

hello!

kamusta everyone? <*cheerful tone>

i'm really happy to share a new discovery of good, satisfying burgers! :) hehehe well since i was quite disappointed that my ol-time fave burger stand started using as many meat extenders than real meat. *ehem! if you guys had the same sentiments, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! i feel for you!

anyway the story goes like this...12 or so past midnight while on our way back from the last wedding, without having dinner and the last meal was served on 2pm, our stomachs were churning in pain! literally! i was used in skipping meals (for diet's sake, cramming, etc.) but this was the first time i felt the cramps of my abdominal muscles and felt the acid rising from my stomach.

GOOD THING!
THE BURGER PROJECT was just at Jupiter cor. Planet Sts. Makati City! when we saw it the 5 of us lit up and had one of the best times in a resto! :) the signage out front was really eye catching, simple and appealing to anybody. heck! even the name of the restaurant was very interesting. (see below)

once inside we were greeted by the friendly staff and gave us this mini clip boards that contains our order sheet. an individual sheet was exclusive to one person only. the fun of filling up that blank checklist of numerous choices of burger toppings, sauces, buns, and even Angus or regular beef patty sets the dining excitement to a whole new level. :)

the food (burgers) was YUMMMMY! scrumptious if you must. the serving of just 1 burger was like..hmm...6 inches in diameter! if couldn't devour the whole thing you could share it! :) we also order the mozzarella sticks, chili fries and animal fries, yummy as well and talk about filling! the milk shakes was thick and very creamy. i really can't express it in english but in tagalog, "alam mo na hindi ka tinitipid."

soooo...last night i was with my family and A. i introduced them to TBP. :) and just as i thought...THEY LOVE IT!

sorryy..i look ridiculous! haha :)

me and A plus vanilla milkshake!

my mama, she ordered French Lick...well she loved the burger but it was too big for her..sooo i ended up finishing it for her. :) big room in my tummy!

ze daddy with ze mama :)

the boys (my bros) and my tita Gay enjoying the fries as their appetizers.

my Tita Gay ordered the Western burger (i think) hehe..is a burger with 2 pieces of onion rings, with the patty, and a lot of burger topping goodies, its like a tower when they serve it.

okay..this is Kai's own customized 2-patty burger. :)

daddy. :) enjoying his Chori burger.
note: Chori (accd to dad) is a beef patty that has similar taste to our longganisa.

Zyg and Kai

A also customized his burger. dozing his double patty with a combination of  teriyaki and garlic sauce.

for the brave one Ken, topping his double patty with pickled jalapeños in a potato bun :)

there you have it fellas! i hope that this long post has made you wanna try this resto. :) just in case you want to try something new other than the fast food stalls.
they are open until midnight during weekdays and up until 3am during weekends. branches are in QC (teacher's village) and in vito cruz, near La Salle.

hope you guys had a nice day!
goodnight!

epoy-centrism. :)

hello!

its me again. :) time to share Epoy's 21st birthday celebration! *yey!

what's so special about him?

he's like Marlon (my BFF)..my brother from another mother. :)
A term used to describe a good friend that you have known almost your whole life. The word "brother" is used because the friend is extremely close to you to the point that he is almost like your brother--but from a different mother. And that rhymes. And you know that rhymes. Admit it!

i have known them almost my whole life and spent valuable time with me and my family. plus they fit snugly in my family's way of life. they're never strangers and never will feel like one. :)

epoy was surprised when the guys from Central sang him the b-day song! :))

just us. :)

October birthday bliss :)

hello!

its been a while (again) haha. october was a very busy month for me, my family and friends due to all the birthdays that literally lasted for a week. everyday starting from the 18th up to the 24th of the month were special days of some of my dearest friends and my mom and tita gay.

not to mention the 7th, t'was the birth date of our beloved lola ganda. she was my daddy's mom and my favorite lola in the world. we are still celebrating her day ever since she reunited with our Lord way back on 2005.

here are some photos of us celebrating. :)

Oct. 7: lola's b-day. after dinner we visited lola in St. Alphonsus in Magallañes, prayed the rosary together and then headed to Starbucks to have late night coffee and desserts.
(photos were taken via iPad, sorry for the noise)

Oct. 18: tita olga's day. for lunch we ate at Rai Rai Ken in Magallañes and for dinner daddy cooked spaghetti and buffalo wings. :) plus we had chips with salsa and sour cream.

si mama, nakapikit nanaman haha. :)

Oct 21: Mama's day. :) we had dinner at Shakey's, again in Magallañes. :)

sorry for the long post. its been a while since i've updated my blog. i hope you guys had a nice month. november is just around the corner. :) can't wait for Christmas! yey!
