Summer 2014: Dalitiwan Resort, Majayjay, Laguna

My summer escapades this year may very well be renamed "KIMPOY's LAST SUMMER BEFORE CLERKSHIP" as this year's outings topped my previous vacays for being the most numerous and most adventurous heat busting trips. Last week I was just at Boracay with my mom chillin' by the beach, sipping some fresh fruit shakes, relaxing but this week, the Acosta family members planed a  different kind of escape that would require your mind and body to focus.

I'm talking about this beautiful batis (stream in English) located in Majayjay, Laguna. This resort is huge! I really cannot quantify how big the land area is just because I suck at measurements and math per se but HUGE is huge! So going back, the waters flowing to this resort is from a cold spring or falls up and beyond the mountains of Banahaw. The water is just the thing to beat the heat. It's ICY COLD! Brrrrrr...if you guys are looking for a thrilling adventure with RAPIDS and strong currents to serve as masseuses or slides you've gotta try this out.

COST:
  • 80 php/pax (adult), 50 php/pax (kids)
  • 500 php/cottage - they also have air conditioned rooms for the same price I believe plus they also offer OVERNIGHT stays
  • Gasoline to Majayjay
  • Tollgate fees
  • Food
The budget depends on how many people are coming and how much you are willing to spend for food, snacks and beverages. Overnight stays may be a bit more costly. In my opinion this resort is worth the price. My family and I enjoyed the stay and the adrenaline pump just by trying to balance on top of gigantic, slippery rocks, and to propel yourself against the strong currents to avoid being taken downhill!  Now, I'll let the pictures do the talkin'.

Presenting my beautiful titas plus mom, modeling her plate! Hahahaha!

Its me and the grill. Feeling Top Chef dito hahaha

Dad.☺

See those beef jerky-like formations? Those were actually bag hooks. Genius!

Inihaw na liempo. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!

Enzo, Ken and Artie. :) The 3 Musketeers of the day!

The trip wouldn't be complete with out a selfie :)

Tita Gay enjoying her massage, nature's way!

We had a super great time! Even my little cousins refuse to ascent the waters even if their teeth are chattering! Now that's spirit! :) I just hope he doesn't catch a cold!

A, me and Kenzo :) Ken at the BG

Another memorable thing that happened: I LOST MY RING. T.T  Yup, my 3 1/2 year old ring was taken down by the rapids, neverrrrr to be found again. *sigh!!!!!

It's a good thing A didn't make a big fuss about it like I did. :P

Anyway...things like that happen. Just remember to put it all behind you and *shine!
I hope you guys enjoyed the blog!
See you on the next!

Date with Mama: BORACAY 2014

I really don't know how this blessing came but it happened on one of the scorching afternoons, I was thrilled when my mom suddenly asked me if I want to go to Boracay with her and her friends for this summer. *MIND WENT BLANK HERE...hahaha before I immediately blurted out a big, fat, juicy YES! My excitement was understandable because it will be my first time to see the wonders of that internationally acclaimed, highly recommended white sand beach.

Boracay  is a small island in the Philippines located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines according to Wiki. It is a shame, I know, for a Filipino like me to miss out going to an amazing place like that but I do know that there is a time for everything. This summer was mine!☺☼

I just want to share some of the photos I took with the BB cam.

My flight to Boracay. :) Cebu Pacific Air

After arriving at Boracay Airport at the main land, I needed to take one of this boat rides to Boracay Island itself. It probably took me about 15 minutes. Adventure starts here

Mama fetched me at the port. :) She arrived a day earlier than me. Haha!

We stayed at the Elizalde Rest house :)

YEY! I finally made it! :) This was taken at 5pm. I loved the colors of the sky, blues, purples with hints of pink and orange from the setting sun!

Of course I needed to pass the opportunity of having the typical Starbucks, Ice Monster. Instead we ventured in trying out the fruit shakes!

Here are the 2 mighty competitors that both claim to be the BEST FRUIT SHAKES in Bora. :)

Try this stone-oven baked thin crust pizza from CARUSO. :) This is heavenly!

Finally, dine in an authentic Thai resto located at D Mall. :) I am super lost for words when I tasted the rice with pineapples and chicken, the curry was delectable! Plus the papaya salad was refreshing and totally tasty!

I would just like to clarify that my whole stay in Bora was dedicated in swimming, EATING, and shopping. :) I would try the activities like island hopping, helmet diving, etc. when I return with my friends.

You might boo me at this point but I really did enjoy the other side of the adventures by trying out the different restos and food kiosks the island has to offer, relaxing by the beach, stargazing, and walking by the beach at night. This vacation for me was relaxing and allowed me to listen to nature's silence.

More from me soon! :)

my 2013 update!

Hello everyone!
I really missed writing for my blog! T.T Please forgive me if it took forever to once again update my posts. I have been really busy in school. Med life is challenging and at the same time wondrous for me. I became so focused on studying because I would absolutely want to become a good doctor in the future.☺♥

Alright! So much for my introduction, this post will be about my 2013 (since it was the year I stopped blogging). WARNING: this will be a lengthy post but please try to bare with me until the end. Thanks!

Since my last posts about the upcoming Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Bangkal, Makati, fund raising activities were known, I am pleased to inform you guys that the OLFC Concert was a BIG success! Thank you for everyone who came and cheered for us. All the proceeds were donated in a church in Iloilo, for the rehabilitation of their parish community from the super typhoon Yolanda.

Another good news came right after the concert week! The Our Lady of Fatima YOUTH CHOIR won the 1st ever chorale singing competition! :) I couldn't tell you how much the kids screamed and celebrated for their efforts during the preparation for this competition. They were soooo ecstatic!

The winning piece was "Munting Sanggol" :)

Christmas came! :)
